1. The free tools run in your browser

The leak checker and verifier run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Documents you check are never uploaded — there is no server that receives them. You can confirm this yourself: load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tools still work.

2. Leak checker — what a result means

The leak checker looks for common signs that a redaction failed (recoverable text under redaction marks, metadata, hidden layers). It is a diagnostic aid:

• A finding means the checker found recoverable content — treat it seriously.
• A clean result means the checker found none of the patterns it looks for. It is not a guarantee the document is safe to share, and you should not represent it as one.

3. Verifier — what verification means

The verifier checks a sealed Omitly file's cryptographic certificate. A valid result means the listed redactions were applied by Omitly and the file has not been altered since sealing. It does not mean the document contains no remaining sensitive information, and it does not identify who performed the redaction. Verification is free for anyone, always.

4. Acceptable use

Don't attack, overload or probe the site; don't scrape it into a competing dataset; don't misrepresent tool results (including presenting a clean leak-check or a valid certificate as a warranty of a document's contents).

5. Content

Site content (guides, articles, comparisons) is general information, not legal advice, and may not reflect your jurisdiction or circumstances.

6. Australian Consumer Law and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that: the free tools are provided at no charge, and our total liability arising from your use of the site or free tools is limited, to the maximum extent the law permits, to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of resupply. To the extent permitted by law, the free tools are provided without warranties beyond what these terms state. Your use of the paid Software is governed by the EULA, including its liability terms.

7. General

Governed by the laws of Western Australia. We may update these terms; changes are dated, apply prospectively, and the current version is always at omitly.app/terms.
