Move your licence to another computer
Updated 6 Aug 2026 · Applies to Omitly 2.3.4+ · macOS (Apple silicon) & Windows
An Omitly licence is issued to you, not bound to a specific machine — the EULA is explicit about this: “a licence is for a person, not a machine.” That means reimaging, replacing hardware, or installing on a second device you personally use all work the same way and need nothing from us.
Reimaging or replacing a machine
Re-import your licence file on the new install:
- Open Omitly on the (re)installed machine and go to More ▾ → About Omitly….
- Under Licence, choose Import licence file… and select the licence file you received by email at purchase.
There’s no seat to free up first and nothing to contact us about — the same licence file works on the new machine immediately.
A Pro licence and multiple devices
A Pro licence covers the devices you personally use, for your own use — not simultaneous use by different people. If you’re licensing for a team or need something beyond that, see contact support.
